Within the past year, the Indiana State Department of Agriculture’s Indiana Grown initiative has reached multiple milestones; like launching its first program, Homegrown by Heroes, which supports local producers who have served in the military and adding approximately 38 businesses, distributors and farmer’s markets to the cause of supporting local foods.
